About me: Kate Murphy, Owner
My husband Andrew and I took a trip a few summers ago to an orphanage in San Vincente Guerrero, Mexico. We were driving home after an amazing week when both of us began to feel like God was directing us to start our own business- something I'd never had a desire to do before. My good friend, Lindsay, owner of Dolce Dance Studio, has always inspired me with her entrepreneurial skills. With encouragement from her and from Andrew I began to pursue the idea of opening a consignment store. A few months later Degrees of Chic became a reality. I have always been a thrifty girl and I love to bargain hunt. One of the beauties of Degrees of Chic is that I've already done the hunting for you and you're left with a great selection of quality items at affordable prices. This process has been wonderful and sometimes scary, but I know God put me in this place for a reason and it's a really amazing thing to just trust in His plan.
What else? I grew up in Canby and when it came time to move out on my own I couldn’t imagine anywhere else I’d rather be. I’m married to a wonderful man that I thank my lucky stars for daily! We are expecting our first baby in June- exciting!! We also have two adorable dogs- a bulldog named Ruth and a chocolate labradoodle named Henry. You might see us walking around town sometime! I have a truly spectacular family and group of friends that offer endless support- I enjoy spending as much time with them as I can.
